This idea came from a gas station stop on our way back from New York in the fall. I can't even remember the name, but I bought this bag of snacks which had pretzels, caramel, and chocolate all mixed together. It was yummy and fairly basic, so I tried to create something similar from memory. Thus my simple chocolate caramel pretzel treat recipe was born.
Have you seen these beautiful Weck canning jars? I really like the look, so I bought several of them for my family members. Then I decided that I needed to fill them with something. At first, I thought preserves or a chutney. But, I really needed something a little less time-consuming. I think this pretzel snack fit them nicely.
Ingredients
Waffle pretzels
Chocolate chips (any variety you like)
Jar of caramel (make your own if you have time)
Spread out the pretzels on a piece of wax paper or freezer paper.
Drizzle chocolate that you've melted, either in a double boiler or the microwave. Then drizzle the caramel.
Add another layer of pretzels on top.
Drizzle more chocolate and caramel. Let dry or move to the refrigerator until they harden.

Break up into pieces and place in the Weck Jars, or a ziplock bag to keep them fresh.
