Gardener’s Pegboard

Adding a pegboard to your potting bench is a great decorative touch and a great way to organize all your gardening and other outdoor supplies.

On our trip to Construction Junction I picked up a framed pegboard for $10. I had been thinking of making one to hang above my potting bench, and there it was, already completed.

It was a little grimy so I spray painted the board with a nice herbal green and the trim in white. I used a good interior/exterior paint to help protect it from the weather.

Now this board looked a little too shiny and new so I used a little antiquing glaze to soften the overall look.

Here’s the finished product all dressed up with some floral wire, plant tags and tools. I love the way it looks and am excited to have some more storage for all my gardening and outdoor supplies.

  1. I love seeing all your projects – this one’s a winner by the way. Your bench is so full of energy and potential. Whatever will you use the grapevine thingie for?

    • Hi Jackie,

Are you referring to the grapevine ball? I use them for lots of things. Mostly to arrange flowers in. Last year I tried my hand at filling one with suet and hanging it for the birds but it was too heavy and I think a squirrel or raccoon got it. LOL

  2. How nice that you already found it framed! I love the colors you chose. Perfect for the gardener!

    • Hi Terri,

You are so right. I was thinking about buying on with a gift card I got from my brother from Home Depot. I was debating on how I might frame it but then we came across one already made and it was a no brainer.
      Thanks for stopping by!
